چکیده

A wired Grid recognizes resources connected with a fixed network as shared resources. But the present computing environment is evolving to mobile computing environment that involves mobile devices and wireless network. Therefore, the next generation Grids should offer an environment that uses a mobile device as a Grid resource not recognized in wired Grids. It is necessary to develop a system model and a scheduling algorithm for economic scheduling paradigm and load-balancing, which consider both wired and wireless environment. In this paper, we propose a service based architecture that integrates wireless resources with wired resources using proxy-based method to be a resource consumer and a resource producer and suggest an adaptive scheduling strategy considering economy in Mobile Grid. Experimental results show that the performance of our proposed scheduling strategy is scalable in wired and wireless environments.

Adaptive Workflow Scheduling Strategy in Service-Based Grids

During the past several years, the grid application executed same jobs on one or more hosts in parallel, but the recent grid application is requested to execute different jobs linearly. That is, the grid application takes the form of workflow application. In general, efficient scheduling of workflow applications is based on heuristic scheduling method. The heuristic considering relation between...

Taxonomies of the Multi-criteria Grid Workflow Scheduling Problem

The workflow scheduling problem which is considered difficult on the Grid becomes even more challenging when multiple scheduling criteria are used for optimization. The existing approaches can address only certain variants of the multi-criteria workflow scheduling problem, usually considering up to two contradicting criteria being scheduled in some specific Grid environments. A comprehensive de...

A Throughput Maximisation Strategy for Scheduling Transaction Intensive Workflows on SwinDeW-G

With the rapid development of e-business, workflow systems now have to deal with transaction intensive workflows whose main characteristic is the huge number of concurrent workflow instances. For such workflows, it is important to maximise the overall throughput to provide good quality of service. However, most existing scheduling algorithms are designed for scheduling of a single complex scien...

Workflow Scheduling Algorithms in Grid Computing

Grid computing is a process of aggregate the functionality of different geographically resources and provide services to the user. Scheduling is most popular research area in grid computing for achieving high performance. In scheduling, tasks are assigning to resources and maintain the execution. Dependencies constraints are need to preserve for workflow scheduling in grid computing. In this pa...
